Blue Thistle Fibers is a small-batch, naturally dyed yarn company based in the heart of Appalachia. We offer Lace, Fingering, Sock, DK, & Worsted weight wool yarn in a Merino/Nylon blend & 100% Superwash Merino and cotton yarn, all of which are dyed by hand with natural dyes.

Why Natural Dyes?
Each skein of wool is dyed by hand using plant dyes. Our color palette, derived entirely from natural dyes, reflects the natural colors of our home state of beautiful West Virginia.
As you explore our shop, imagine the forests filled with Chestnut Oaks and Virginia Pines, mossy river rocks, and all the saturated blues of our rolling expanse of sky.
Sustainably Sourced Wool
Blue Thistle Fibers yarns originate from an ethical and sustainable mill in Peru. All wool is mulesing free, with transparent, ethical sourcing.
Our yarn comes in two sizes options and four different weights, offering variety for all of your creative fiber projects. You can find our yarns in 25 gram minis and 10 gram skeins, and available in Fingering, Sock, Superwash DK, Superwash 100% Merino DK, and Worsted weights.
