Blue Thistle Fibers is a working fiber mill and natural dye studio producing naturally dyed yarn using plant dyes, processing wool and fleece for hand spinners, and teaching natural dyeing and felting in our open studio.

Botanical Dyes
Our fibers are dyed using traditional botanical dyes, including madder, indigo, weld, and cochineal, and foraged barks, lichens, and mushrooms. We buy dyes from tested commercial dye sources, and also grow some dye materials on our West Virginia farm.
Flexible Manufacturing
Our fibers are produced in small batches using Belfast Mini Mill equipment in our working fiber mill & natural dye studio.
