Description

Goldenrod Worsted Weight — Farm-Grown Yellows

Warm golden yellow with slight amber depth — the color of West Virginia roadsides in late summer. Goldenrod yellow has more warmth than weld, a softer quality, slightly less saturated but with a natural richness that reads beautifully across fiber types. Naturally dyed with goldenrod (Solidago) foraged from West Virginia roadsides and fields in late summer. Part of our Farm-Grown Yellows collection — foraged from our landscape, processed here. The specific warmth of Appalachian autumn.

Dye note: Goldenrod yields a warm, slightly softer yellow than weld — less fluorescent, more amber. Color varies slightly by harvest timing:earlier harvest reads more yellow-green, late summer harvest reads warmer gold. West Virginia goldenrod has good lightfastness on alum-mordanted wool.

This is a tonal colorway — each skein moves through natural variations within the color range as the dye responds to each fiber. Colors may vary from images online. Pre-wash in cold water by hand before use, as natural dyes may release excess color during the first several washes.Lay flat to dry out of direct sunlight.
