Blue Thistle Fibers partners with a small group of independent shops, fiber studios, and destination retailers seeking distinctive natural color palettes and small-batch textile goods with a strong sense of place.
From our natural dye studio and fiber mill in Gauley Bridge, West Virginia — at the edge of the New River Gorge — we produce limited seasonal collections dyed with botanicals, insects, tannins, and mineral modifiers including madder, indigo, cochineal, weld, walnut, marigold, and more.
Each batch is naturally dyed in small production runs. Tonal variation, depth shifts, and subtle differences between dye lots are part of the character of the work.

Most collections are released to wholesale partners approximately 3–4 weeks before public launch.

Production Notes
Because our yarns are naturally dyed in small batches:
- Exact color repetition between batches is not guaranteed
- Quantities may be limited
- Some collections are seasonal and may not return
- Shops are encouraged to order sufficient quantities for planned projects and displays
Standing colorways and reliable repeat shades are added to our ongoing backroom catalog as they prove successful over time.
