Mauve DK Weight – Madder Reds & Pinks. Soft grayish-pink with purple undertones — the color of dried heather, of mauve flowers, of dusty rose that sits between pink and purple. Mauve shifts from deeper heather tones to softer dusty rose depending on the dye concentration, creating a range that bridges the gap between clear pink and muted purple-pink.
Naturally dyed with fresh cochineal combined with cochineal exhaust bath from Botanical Colors. The fresh cochineal provides depth and saturation; the exhaust adds softness and gray undertones. Two cochineal applications working together give Mauve its characteristic range — darker applications read as heather mauve, lighter as dusty rose. Part of our Madder Reds & Pinks collection.
This is a tonal colorway — each skein moves through natural variations within the color range as the dye responds to each fiber. Colors may vary from images online. Pre-wash in cold water by hand before use, as natural dyes may release excess color during the first several washes. Lay flat to dry out of direct sunlight.
