Botanical Bundle Dyeing Workshop (Ecoprinting with Foraged Plants)
Step into the dye studio and create color directly from the landscape.
In this 2.5-hour hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the art of botanical bundle dyeing (ecoprinting) using flowers and leaves gathered from around our Gauley Bridge dye studio and our dye garden in Huntington, West Virginia. Each piece reflects the season—no two prints are ever the same.
You’ll arrange fresh plant material onto fabric, bundle and bind your piece, then watch as heat and time transfer natural pigments into cloth. When unwrapped, the results are immediate and often surprising—fine details, soft color shifts, and direct impressions of the plants themselves.
This workshop is designed for beginners but engaging for anyone interested in natural dye, fiber art, or hands-on creative work.
