Fingering Naturally Dyed Yarn

Five bases, one standard: small-batch natural dye, every colorway dyed at our studio in Gauley Bridge. Our fingering weight range runs from a workhorse 80% superwash merino/recycled nylon (100g/399 yds) to 100% Shetland, 100% bamboo, tussah silk/camel, and 100% Belgian linen — all at fingering gauge, each taking natural color differently. Merino drinks up madder and indigo with saturation; linen reads natural dyes with softness and a matte finish; silk/camel blends carry dye with extraordinary luminosity. Standard fingering at $25; linen at $30–32. If you want to understand how a dye plant actually behaves, running the same color across multiple bases is one of the best ways to see it.
